San Diego Prowlers making Hot Rod History – The 1980’s
The 1980’s were boom years for most everything in California. Hot Rodding was no exception and the Prowlers were running strong. Here are some of the members and the activities we had during this rocking decade.
Bob Deburn (member #136) had a very smooth riding 1932 Ford sedan delivery. Bob enjoyed working on it and kept it in superb condition. He was a frequent face at our events throughout most of the decade.

his is another one of Dicks Hot Rods. It’s a beautiful ’32 . This rod was used for measurements for the Plymouth Prowler mock-up. For more info concerning this you can refer to the story of ” How the Prowler got it’s name”.
Here is another shot of Bob McCoy’s rocket. This “T” turned in a 205 mph at Bonneville in 1980.

Hotline News put out a great article on the Prowlers 40th Anniversary celebration that was held at Deer Park in Escondido. At this celebration there were about 200 cars. As always we had a great time.
