Prowlers Car Club 60th Anniversary

The San Diego Prowlers proved that even after 60 years of hot rodding, we can still throw a barn-burher of a car show.  We also want to thank our sponsors who generously supplied items for our raffles and winning cars.  Sponsors were:

  • Meguiars Auto Wash
  • Ecology Auto Recycling
  • Napa Auto Parts
  • Hi-Tech Auto Polish
  • Valley Transmission Repair
  • Dick’s Sporting Goods

Well as you can see, we were not the only ones who thought that a 60 year old hot rod club outing was a big deal, the 5 page spread in ‘Street Rodder Magazine’ says something about it.  We want to thank everyone at Street Rodder for coming and spending a day with us at Bates Nut Farm.  We love your magazine too!

That much ink on little ole us, well it was pretty gratifying.

We all had fun.  Mom’s, Dad’s, and especially kids had a great time throughout the entire day.

Some amazingly beautiful cars showed up.

Every kind of hot rod is always welcome at a Prowlers Picnic and Car show.

We counted over 400 cars came during the day.  This is what a car show is all about.  Each car is different.  Each one is a work of art.  All are beautiful in their own way.

Life is good!

Bruce Hamilton Donates Vintage Club Minutes

Special thanks goes to Inactive Prowler Bruce Hamilton, member #87. At our 60th Anniversary Picnic held in September 2007, Bruce presented to the club our club minutes from the years 1948 through 1951. Our living Charter Members have told us they believe minutes were not taken at meetings during our first year of 1947. Previously, we had in our possession club minutes dating back only to 1952. Included were minutes of the Russetta Timing Association meetings from 1948, (the Prowlers were members of the RTA back in the early days). It has been a real hoot reading the early minutes at our regular meetings after the previous meeting’s minutes are read. Bruce is a true friend of the Prowlers and is interested in the continued success of the club. Oh, by the way, did I mention Bruce paid for the band at the picnic?
